At Kingfisher Gallery and Taxidermy we are famous for our prized skin mounted fish and beautifully hand painted replicas, but we are much more than just Taxidermy! We pride ourselves in the high quality custom pieces of furniture we make by hand, one piece at a time. The furniture is crafted with love and incorporates many of the actual fish that anglers and fisherman from all walks of life bring in for trophy mounting. We make coffee tables, end tables, dining tables, and conference tables. All custom, all one of a kind in the world. By combining what God made in the form of driftwood, with what we make in the form of trophy mounts, our clients are given statement pieces that capture the imagination, create stimulating conversation, and bring unparalleled beauty into their lives, homes and offices. If you are an avid angler, contact Kingfisher for a custom made table using your fish! All of the fish featured in our furniture have been mounted by Kingfisher Taxidermy.
Kingfisher Gallery and Taxidermy is not only located on beautiful South Padre Island in deep South Texas, we are also within a short distance to the Port of Brownsville and the Brownsville Shrimp Basin. The Port of Brownsville is home to the largest ship breaking operation in the world. Every day, ships of all makes, models and sizes make their final voyage through the Brownsville Ship Channel to the Port of Brownsville, where they are decommissioned and turned into scrap. Iconic ships such as aircraft carriers U.S.S. Ranger, the U.S.S. Forrestal and the U.S.S. Constellation have all made Brownsville their final resting place. At Kingfisher, we recognize the infinite possibilities of turning ship relics into pieces of art and furniture. Essentially, we save pieces of history, sparing them from the melting chambers. We make furniture from reclaimed items from all types of naval ships and commercial fishing vessels, which once repurposed, make beautiful, interesting, elegant, creative and unexpected furnishings for every room of your home.
